Just as promised, here’s my personal Schecter Tempest Custom review.

The Tempest Custom electric guitar is based on the custom Jerry Horton signature model, which was discontinued a while ago. As you probably know, Jerry Horton plays guitar in Papa Roach. This could suggest that the Schecter Tempest Custom is suitable for only rock and metal music. This, however, could not be further from the truth.

The guitar has a bound mahogany/maple body, and is a set-neck construction which by many experts is considered to be superior to the bolt-on constructions as far as tone is concerned. The instrument comes with a maple neck with a bound rosewood fretboard. The guitar has 22 medium sized frets that should please most players. The neck is rather slim and feels smooth and comfortable.

The Schecter Tempest Custom guitar plays a bit like a Les Paul, but in my opinion is more versatile. The two Duncan designed humbuckers do a terrific job – they’re capable of giving you a heavy distorted tone but also sound surprisingly good when played clean or with a slightly overdriven, bluesy tone. The coil tap feature gives you even more tonal options. The single coil sounds remind more of a tele than a strat, and in general sound pretty good and can certainly be used in a studio or live on stage.

The Schecter Tempest Custom stays well in tune, which is a result of a well thought out construction and the good quality of the featured Grover tuners.

Another thing that is similar to the Les Paul is the fixed tune-o-matic bridge. Depending on the finish, the hardware comes in either gold or chrome. Regardless of the chosen finish option, the guitar looks stylish and quite original.

The Schecter Tempest Custom is made in Korea but its quality and tone are really amazing. Schecter guitars may be less popular than Gibsons or Fenders, but they have a loyal following of players that have tried them and fell in love with them immediatelly. If you are looking for a good quality instrument at a reasonable price, the Tempest Custom is an option that is definitely worth considering.

I’d like to share a video of the Schecter Tempest Custom white electric guitar. I was looking for a cool video to post on my blog and I had a really hard time finding one. I wanted a video that showcases both the tonal abilities of the guitar, as well as some nice playing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really able to find one that would fully live up to my expectations.

The guy in this video plays some riffs from “My Last Serenade” by Killswitch Engage, one of my favorite bands. To tell the truth, his playing could be a bit better rhythmically, but at least you get to see the nice Schecter Tempest Custom finished in white. The guitar is really sweet, and although it is mostly used by rock guys, you’d be amazed by its versatility. If you are a player that likes to jump from one genre to another, this could be the guitar for you. As you can see on the video, the Tempest Custom can certainly work if you are into the heavy stuff, but it can also sound great in less aggressive styles, like blues, funk, or even country.

In the nearest future I’ll be posting a more detailed review of the Schecter Tempest Custom, for now, enjoy the video!

The Schecter Tempest Custom guitar not only looks good, it plays even better. And, best yet, the tone it produces is of the highest quality.

The guitar comes with a fixed TonePros bridge. It also is packed with two humbucker pickups. If you like hard rock then this is the guitar for you. The Schecter Tempest Custom stays well in tune, partially thanks to the Grover tuners which are considered to be one of the best on the market . You will not hear any unknown noise or hum. You can be really versatile with the coil tap feature. The Les Paul-like tone can be changed to a strat tone almost instantly. This versatility is really remarkable.

This guitar comes well set up directly from the factory. The action on the Schecter Tempest Customis is set pretty low and the neck feels fast and comfortable.

If you are into many different genres, rest assured that this beauty will easily allow you to switch from classic rock, hard rock or heavy metal, to the blues or funk in a blink of an eye. The guitar offers the Duncan designed HB-102 pickups. This gives you the option to switch from one style to another. It is simple to be playing Metallica then play some notes from Stevie Ray Vaughan. The sound quality is amazing. Some owners of the Schecter Tempest Custom have said that this guitar is built like a tank – that says a lot. Others have said it out-performs the Epiphone Les Paul Standard. If you are looking at buying a guitar that offers high quality tone, quality, and durability then the Schecter Tempest Custom electric guitar is an instrument that is likely to meet your needs.
